Foreign Ministry: Sovereign Belarus important for Ukraine and Europe

Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar made a corresponding statement during a video conference "Democratic and secure Belarus. A view from Ukraine and Poland", Ukrinform reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Bodnar paid special attention to Russia's influence on internal processes in Belarus.

"It is extremely important for Ukraine and the whole of Europe that Belarus remains a sovereign and independent state, free from Russian influence. Ukraine is ready to cooperate in various formats in order to assist Belarus in resolving the political crisis," Bodnar said.

The participants stressed their readiness to continue the dialogue, in particular within the framework of the Lublin Triangle (Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania) in order to provide solidarity support to the Belarusian people and promote the further development of Belarus as an independent and democratic state.

The video conference was initiated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov and Head of the National Security Bureau of Poland Paweł Soloch.
