Zelensky switches to ‘quarantine’ working mode
“According to the Constitution, the president cannot delegate his powers to anyone. Volodymyr Zelensky's health condition allows him to perform his official duties. The head of state tested negative for COVID-19,” the report says.
Situations of self-isolation and quarantine are not envisaged in the Constitution of Ukraine. That is why a special protocol of the president's working mode has been adopted meeting both the norms of the current legislation and sanitary and epidemiological requirements.
Zelensky undergoes daily ELISA and PCR testing, as well as medical examinations. He limits the range of physical communication, holds meetings online. Face-to-face meetings involving personal communication with the head of state are excluded in the coming days. Participation in mass events is also excluded, working trips outside the capital of Ukraine are canceled. The circle of persons with whom the president communicates personally is narrowed down to security and closest aides.
Exceptions to this protocol are possible only in the event of an emergency situation that will require an immediate response by the head of state in accordance with his constitutional powers.
As Ukrinform reported, the wife of the President of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, tested positive for COVID-19. The First Lady is feeling well and has no symptoms. She is currently receiving outpatient treatment, isolated from other family members.
