Albania fully supports the European Union's sanctions imposed on Russia.

OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Albania's Prime Minister and Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Edi Rama said this at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The position of Albania and my position as the Prime Minister is the following: We are proud to be NATO members, we are proud to be the allies of the US and the EU. And we fully support our great friends in the issues mentioned by Mr. Minister [Lavrov], namely, the sanctions," Edi Rama said during his first visit to Russia at the position of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.

That was his response to Lavrov's remark that the potential for Albania-Russia cooperation development is "constrained by the fact that Albania joined the European Union's sanctions policy."
