Dombrovskis: Ukraine plays important role in Europe

Ukraine is an important country in Europe, which shares common values with the EU and works to reform itself, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis has said.
He said this at a press conference following a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk in Brussels on Tuesday, January 28, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"Ukraine is an important country belonging to Europe. It has an important role to play on our continent. Brexit, instability and conflicts at the EU's borders make Ukraine an even more important partner for the EU - as a country that shares all values and works to reform itself in order to become an ally and a modern European country," Dombrovskis said.
Honcharuk, together with Ukrainian ministers, visited Brussels on January 28 to attend a meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council.
