President receives credentials from ambassadors of number of foreign states

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko received credentials from the newly appointed ambassadors of Armenia, Croatia, North Macedonia, Poland, Bulgaria and Argentina, the press service of the head of state has reported.

"The president received letters of credence from the ambassadors of a number of foreign states: the Republic of Armenia - Tigran Seiranian, the Republic of Croatia - Anica Djamić, the Republic of North Macedonia - Krum Efremov, the Republic of Poland - Bartosz Cichocki, the Republic of Bulgaria - Kostadin Tashev Kodzhabashev, the Argentine Republic - Elena Leticia Teresa Mikusinski," the report reads.

During the conversation with the ambassador of Armenia, the parties discussed the necessity of intensifying political dialogue. They positively noted the creation of the Group of Friendship with Ukraine in the National Assembly of Armenia as an important means of interparliamentary dialogue.

Special attention was paid to the issues of deepening bilateral trade and economic cooperation, in particular, the restoration of the functioning of the Joint Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Armenian Commission on Economic Cooperation.

The president thanked the ambassador of the Republic of Croatia for the consistent support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as a significant political, humanitarian and expert assistance provided by Zagreb to Ukraine at the bilateral level and in the framework of international organizations.

Poroshenko expressed hope for the continuation of an active bilateral political dialogue between Ukraine and Croatia aimed to realize a significant potential of the Ukrainian-Croatian partnership in all spheres.

During the meeting with the ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia, the main focus was on the importance of maintaining the positive dynamics of the bilateral dialogue, in particular the holding of regular meetings of the Ukrainian-Macedonian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the Republic of North Macedonia in the near future. The head of state noted the growth of bilateral trade, which has increased more than 5 times since the beginning of 2019.

Speaking with the ambassador of Poland to Ukraine, the head of state thanked the Polish side for the continued support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and expressed hope for maintaining the traditionally active political dialogue at the highest level in the future.

The parties also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the Euro-Atlantic area and in the field of energy security.

During the meeting with the ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria, the parties expressed satisfaction with the high dynamics of the bilateral political dialogue, as well as the implementation of a number of concrete mutually beneficial projects, in particular in the field of transport and energy.

The parties paid considerable attention to the issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Ukraine and Bulgaria.

During the conversation with the ambassador of the Argentine Republic, the parties discussed the issue of further intensification of the political dialogue, prospective directions for the development of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres, as well as expansion of the legal and contractual framework of the Ukrainian-Argentine relations.
