Donald Tusk congratulates Poroshenko on reaching runoff of presidential elections

“President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a phone conversation with President of the European Council Donald Tusk. Donald Tusk congratulated Petro Poroshenko on reaching the runoff of the presidential elections. He especially noted the observance of democratic standards during the elections and called it an important achievement of the Head of State,” the press service of the Head of State reports.

The interlocutors discussed the bilateral agenda in the context of the EU-Ukraine mini-summit held in Brussels on March 20.

In addition, the parties agreed on the following contacts at the highest level.

As reported, the regular presidential elections took place in Ukraine on March 31. Thirty-nine candidates were in a ballot paper.

According to the data of over 99% votes counted by the Central Election Commission, Volodymyr Zelensky and Petro Poroshenko make it to the runoff.
