Ukraine's honorary consulate opens in Croatia

The Croatian city of Split has hosted the ceremonial opening of the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine, which was attended by the Ukrainian president's wife, Maryna Poroshenko, and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, Ukraine's Embassy in Croatia has reported.

"The ceremonial opening of the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine took place in the Croatian city of Split on August 20, 2018. An honorary guest of the event was the wife of the Ukrainian president, M. Poroshenko," the statement reads.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejcinovic Buric, and Split Mayor Andro Krstulovic Opara.

While in Split, Maryna Poroshenko held a meeting with the Croatian prime minister, spoke with representatives of the Ukrainian community in Croatia and visited the Ukrainian military who are currently on vacation and rehabilitation at the Galeb campsite, the embassy said.
