Slovakia's new ambassador starts diplomatic mission in Ukraine

"Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar congratulated newly appointed Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Ukraine Marek Safin on the start of his diplomatic mission and expressed gratitude to the Slovak side for consistent support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, which is of particular importance given the beginning of Slovakia's chairmanship in the OSCE in 2019," the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported.

The interlocutors discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Ukrainian-Slovak relations, in particular, the preparation of an official visit of Slovakia's Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák to Ukraine, as well as holding of regular meetings of bilateral commissions on cross-border cooperation and economic, industrial and scientific-technical cooperation.

"The parties noted the readiness to continue supporting the high dynamics of a political dialogue between Ukraine and Slovakia," the Foreign Ministry emphasized.
