Poroshenko calls on EU to synchronize anti-Russian sanctions with United States

The European Union should synchronize with the United States the sanctions against the Kremlin over its aggression.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this at the 11th Kyiv Security Forum, organized by Arseniy Yatsenyuk's The Open Ukraine Foundation, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I welcome the decisive and powerful step taken by the United States of America against the Kremlin's leadership. The Kremlin’s entourage has lost tens of billions for just a few days, and the price for the Kremlin’s entourage continues to grow every day. It is important because this money will never be spent on slaughterous missiles, bullets or even the poisonous Russian propaganda against the civilized world, not just against Ukraine," Poroshenko said.

At the same time, in his opinion, in order to change Russia's behavior, it is necessary to ensure the maximum effect of sanctions.

"I emphasize: it will be possible only when the European Union follows the example of the United States of America, and the whole world synchronizes its sanctions with them, especially in the financial field," the Head of State emphasized.
