During a phone call with German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed that Germany take part in the expert review of a bill aimed at ensuring the independence of Ukraine's anti-corruption infrastructure.

Zelensky said this in a Facebook post, according to Ukrinform.

"I spoke with Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz. As always, a very good conversation. There is a willingness to help and continue supporting us," Zelensky said.

He stated that the text of the bill, which guarantees the independence and effectiveness of Ukraine's anti-corruption institutions, had already been agreed upon.

"It's important that our anti-corruption bodies supported this bill. We all agreed that there must be no interference or influence from Russia on the functioning of our anti-corruption infrastructure. I invited Germany to join the expert review of the bill. Friedrich assured me of readiness to assist," Zelensky said.

"Germany offers full support in this matter. Thank you," Zelensky added.

He also briefed Merz on the situation at the front lines and emphasized the need for additional funding to expand drone production.

"We will work to scale up the quantity, especially of interceptor drones. Thank you, Friedrich. Thank you, Germany, for your support of Ukraine and our people," Zelensky said.
