In Minsk, Ukraine will insist on the creation of an expert group involving representatives of the Russian Federation and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to search for missing persons and to exhume bodies of the deceased in Donbas.

Ukraine’s representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) Iryna Gerashchenko reported this on her Facebook page on Thursday.

"We will insist on the establishment of a mechanism with the involvement of Ukraine, the Russian Federation and the ICRC and with the invitation of representatives of ORDLO to search for missing persons and to exhume bodies of the deceased soldiers. This should be nonpolitical group consisting of experts and without politics in order to fulfill the important humanitarian mission," Gerashchenko wrote.

In her opinion, the issue of bringing the ICRC to the search for missing persons should become one of the topics of the "Normandy format" since the support of the leaders of these countries seriously helped to unblock the release of the hostages.
