PM Groysman notes importance of river transport development

He said this during his working trip to Zaporizhzhia region, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The development of our river transport is a very important element. It is almost halted. We can use our river potential for goods transfer around the world. We need a new legislative framework as well as support of the river fleet," the Prime Minister said.

Groysman noted that the revival of river transport and use of river and sea routes would boost the development of logistics capabilities of many economic spheres, in particular the agricultural sector.

He has also noted the important role of Nibulon company, which has its own shipbuilding enterprises.

"Today, the company signed an agreement with the International Finance Corporation worth millions of dollars to develop the entire river infrastructure. As soon as we finance more and attract the river into economic life, the economy will also develop," Groysman said.
