Issue of UN peacekeepers in Donbas remains relevant – Yeliseyev

An ability to deploy the UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas, as well as the issue of the OSCE police mission, should be also considered by the international community as an option for resolving the conflict.
Deputy Head of Presidential Administration Kostiantyn Yeliseyev said this at a briefing in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"Since the proposal to send the OSCE armed mission has stalled, we hope that perhaps debate will be resumed on the previous initiative of deploying a UN peacekeeping mission to Donbas. We believe that this option should be also considered," Yeliseyev said.
He noted that consideration of this issue at the United Nations would be a kind of test for the Russian Federation, "if it, in fact, seeks to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine."
