Ayder Muzhdabaev, Director of the ATR TV channel closed in Crimea, calls on the Ukrainian authorities and the media to respond to continued repressions of the Crimean Tatars on the annexed peninsula.

Muzhdabaev said this at the International Forum "Crimea is Ukraine. Annexed Peninsula between the Past and the Future", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I ask [President of Ukraine] Petro Poroshenko to become the voice of the Crimean Tatars, who are not allowed to express their own position in society. I ask journalists, party and non-party leaders to respond to the repressions of the Crimean Tatars," Muzhdabaev said.

The experts added that Ukraine should conduct awareness raising activities on the territory of Crimea and find a way to remind the world about the unique case of the annexation of Crimea.
