Chernihiv mayor to rename streets in line with decommunization

Chernihiv Mayor Vladyslav Atroshenko has signed a resolution to rename 23 streets of the city.

He wrote this on his Facebook page.

“I have signed a resolution to rename 23 streets of the city in line with the legislation on decommunization and proposals by the commission on street names regulation,” reads a posting.

According to the resolution, nine streets will get back their historical names.

The second part of the document concerns the translation of names of 14 streets and lanes, which were registered in Russian language, into Ukrainian.
