Yanukovych supports idea of national roundtable to resolve crisis

KYIV, December 9 /Ukrinform/. Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has supported first Ukrainian President Leonid Kravchuk's proposal to organize a national roundtable to find a compromise in the current socio-political situation in the country, the presidential press service has reported.

"First Ukrainian President Leonid Kravchuk addressed Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych with a proposal to hold a national roundtable to find a compromise in the current situation, and to invite representatives of the government and the opposition to participate in it. Viktor Yanukovych has supported this initiative. In his opinion, a roundtable could become a platform for understanding," reads the statement.

In particular, four Ukrainian presidents are planning to meet on Tuesday to discuss important issues facing the country.
