CEC deputy head calls current Rada elections dirtiest in Ukrainian history
. Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Zhanna Usenko-Chorna says the parliamentary elections of October 28 are the dirtiest in the history of Ukraine.
She stated this during a press briefing at the CEC on Thursday.
"I would like to note that today is the fourth day since the voting. With regret and pain, we can say that these elections were the dirtiest in the history of the independent Ukraine," Usenko-Chorna said.
According to her, if the voting itself took place peacefully and transparently, the establishment of its results "was a terrible falsehood. There is a number of constituencies demonstrating a vicious component of the majority election system." In these districts, according to the deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission, the election results were grossly rigged.
"The voting results there are set not only by means of physical force, but also with the use of tear gas and administrative pressure. Today there are many districts, which will be written with dirty ink in the history of the independent Ukraine," Usenko-Chorna said.
She exemplified the district electoral commission of the 11th constituency in Vinnytsia. Here, according to the deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission, the majority of the commission blocked putting the real election returns on the national electronic system Elections 2012.
According to Usenko-Chorna, in the early hours of Thursday, packages with the ballots were opened and the seals broken. "Now, no one in Ukraine can take the responsibility and establish whether these election documents, after moving freely around the room, will reflect the real expression of people's will," she underscored.
