Tourist liner MSC Melody opens cruise season in Odesa port
KYIV, March 26 /UKRINFORM/. The first in the current year tourist liner MSC Melody has moored to the Odesa port, having opened a cruise season in the “Black Sea Pearl.”
Initially, opening of the cruise season was expected March 15, However, due to difficult weather conditions in the Mediterranean Sea region, a call of the first in this season tourist liner MSC Melody was postponed, head of the Odesa seaport Mykola Makovetsky told an UKRINFORM correspondent.
“The first in the current cruise season ship is under Panama's flag. Length of the ship is 204.7 meters, draft - 6.7 meters, maximum passenger capacity - 1,372 persons,” Mykola Makovetsky has said.
Ship MSC Melody opened the last year's cruise season in Odesa April 17.
A season started with a two-weeks' delay due to greasy weather in Mediterranean Sea region.
According to the seaport head, in total, in Odesa, 73 calls of cruise ships are expected. 32 of them will be made by over 200-meter-length liners.
