Two-month-old baby dies and four-year-old girl injured in traffic accident in Kharkiv region

This was reported on Facebook by the Kharkiv region police, according to Ukrinform.

“The accident occurred on January 24 at around 7:15 a.m. on the Berestyn-Poltava highway near the town of Berestyn. According to preliminary information, the 26-year-old driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and overturn,” the report said.

According to the report, the accident resulted in injuries to the car's passengers, a 24-year-old woman and a four-year-old child. A two-month-old baby died from his injuries.

A police investigation team and emergency services worked at the scene.

Investigators entered the information into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 286 (violation of traffic safety rules or transport operation rules by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As reported, on the morning of January 24, three people were killed, and two more were injured in a traffic accident involving passenger cars near the village of Perekoryntsi in the Vinnytsia region.
