Voronin retires right after Shevchenko
KYIV, June 20 /UKRINFORM/. Ukraine striker Andriy Voronin after the match against England (0-1) has announced his international retirement, according to championat.com
"I have said before the European Championship that I would end my career in the team. I am no longer young, ten years played for the national team. I want to concentrate on club career, pay more attention to the family," Voronin said.
The forward admitted that he is not satisfied with the result of the Ukrainian national team at EURO 2012. "After all, we had a task to qualify from the group. An unpleasant aftertaste is left, but we should look ahead. We feel how a real football festival looks. Probably in the next 20-30 years there will be no such holiday in Ukraine. Thanks to all who have supported us - at stadiums, on TV, on the streets," said the 32-year-old footballer, who played for the national team 74 matches.
