Users with distributed generation to be exempted from power outage schedules
According to Ukrinform, this was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal on Telegram.
"Hourly power outage schedules will not apply to distributed generation that supplies electricity to at least 80% of users connected to a single line. Today, at the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, the government made the relevant changes to the regulations. They were developed in accordance with the decision of the Headquarters for the Elimination of the Consequences of Emergencies in Kyiv and the Kyiv Region," Shmyhal wrote.
Also, the relevant regional power company will analyze the actual coverage of distributed generation among users. If it is below 80%, hourly schedules will be applied to those lines.
Shmyhal stressed that, with this approach, the state expects to stimulate the installation of new distributed generation facilities and to integrate their capacities into the overall power system.
As reported, in preparation for the 2026/2027 autumn-winter period, each region has developed an energy sustainability plan detailing facilities and measures.
