Ukraine receives over 50 tons of equipment for energy companies, Shmyhal says

Ukraine has recently received more than 50 tons of equipment for energy companies, and aid from the Czech Republic is expected to arrive on January 23.

According to Ukrinform, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this on Telegram.

“In recent days, Ukraine has received six humanitarian shipments weighing over 50 tons from the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Spain, and Norway. These include power transformers, distribution cabinets, generators, lighting poles, etc.,” Shmyhal wrote.

He added that a shipment of power equipment from the Czech Republic is expected to arrive on Friday. In addition, another 400 generators are on their way to Kyiv from Poland, and aid from Austria is already on its way to the Ministry of Energy's reserve hub.

Shmyhal also reported that 20 shipments containing 114 tons of equipment have already been sent to fuel and energy complex enterprises and critical infrastructure. All responsible persons must promptly process the aid received.

As reported, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced additional energy aid to Ukraine from a number of countries amid ongoing Russian shelling. In particular, Azerbaijan sent energy equipment (12 low-voltage panels, 11 generators, 5 transformers, and 27,000 meters of cable) to restore power supply in regions affected by Russian attacks.

In addition, the Netherlands announced an additional EUR 23 million in energy support for Ukraine.
