Kyiv to receive additional distributed generation sources from communities

This was announced on Telegram by Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Ukraine’s Recovery and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, as reported by Ukrinform.

According to Kuleba, Kryvyi Rih is transferring two cogeneration units with a combined capacity of 2 MW. Kherson will provide three block-modular boiler houses adding more than 2 MW. Zaporizhzhia will deliver two cogeneration units, each with a capacity of 2.5 MW.

This equipment will primarily be used for schools and central heating stations that supply residential buildings.

In addition, Kyiv is expected to receive two cogeneration units this week — with capacities of 1.5 MW and 2.3 MW — from its long-standing partner, GIZ.

As previously reported, Kyiv reached an agreement with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), a government institution of Germany providing international technical assistance, on the transfer of two cogeneration units to the city.
