Russian attacks damage over 100 energy facilities over past week

The Deputy Energy Minister Oleksandr Viazovchenko stated this at a briefing, Ukrinform reports.

"Overall, more than 100 cases of network damage as a result of hostilities were recorded last week. At the same time, the enemy deliberately struck energy infrastructure facilities nearly 20 times," Viazovchenko said.

He noted that consumers in frontline and border regions remain without electricity for extended periods due to hostilities. Restoring power supply for these consumers is complicated by constant shelling.

He also reported that a Kharkivoblenergo repair crew carrying out restoration work came under a drone attack. There were no casualties.

In the Donetsk region, a power generation facility was attacked on the night of January 5.

As reported earlier, as of the morning of January 5, due to a Russian attack on energy infrastructure, some consumers left without electricity in Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions, as well as in the city of Slavutych.
