Russian attacks leave consumers without power in five regions, Ukrenergo repots

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Facebook by NPC Ukrenergo, Ukraine’s electricity transmission system operator.

“Overnight, the enemy attacked energy facilities in several regions. As a result, in the morning, there are de-energized consumers in Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions. Emergency restoration work is already underway wherever the security situation allows. At other facilities, power engineers are awaiting permission from the military,” the statement said.

It is noted that as of 9:30 on Friday, electricity consumption was 1.9% higher than the previous day. This increase is due to falling air temperatures in most regions of Ukraine.

“In regions where hourly power outage schedules are in effect, the need for energy conservation remains. Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances as much as possible. If possible, shift energy-intensive activities to nighttime hours – after 23:00,” the power system operator advised.

As reported earlier, power outage schedules are in effect in most regions of Ukraine on December 19.
