Power outage schedules may worsen due to the energy situation, which remains difficult after Russian attacks.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote about this on Facebook following a meeting of the energy headquarters, Ukrinform reports.

"The situation in the energy sector remains very difficult. Unfortunately, there is a risk that power outage schedules may worsen. This is due to the latest strike and the fact that the generation deficit in the power system remains significant. At the same time, the Russians are preparing new attacks on the energy sector in the coming week," he said.

Shmyhal stressed that restoration work is ongoing in all regions. More than 230 crews are working in Kyiv, and 40 Naftogaz repair teams have also been deployed.

"But local authorities must give people a clear understanding of where and within what timeframes heat supply will be restored. In buildings where heat restoration is not possible in the near future, electricity should be available for at least 18 hours a day," he said.

He also noted that cooperation with all partners to obtain energy equipment is being stepped up.

According to Shmyhal, more than 30 countries are already providing support to help Ukraine get through this winter.

Eaflier, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said that international partners had provided Ukraine with backup power equipment with a total capacity of more than 145 MW.
