Zelensky: every power plant in Ukraine has been affected by Russian strikes
The head of state announced this during his speech at the closing of the German-Ukrainian Economic Forum in Berlin, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
For many months, our energy sector has been the main target of Russian strike drones and missiles. In fact, there is currently not a single power plant in Ukraine that has not been affected by Russian strikes. It is difficult to resist such terrorist pressure. But our people are doing it — after each strike, we try to restore everything, and for this we need further support — both from the German government, and most importantly, support for our air defense, and from German companies," Zelensky said.
He called on German businesses and politicians to continue to stand with Ukraine. “Our ability to recover after strikes, our ability to produce weapons and strike back, our ability to shoot down Russian missiles and drones – these are our leverage in negotiations,” the President said.
In this context, he mentioned Germany's clear position on frozen Russian assets – assets located in Europe. “These funds must really and fully work to protect against Russian aggression. It is fair and reasonable – it will really work. It is important that Germany supports this,” the head of state said.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of December 13, Odesa and the region experienced one of the most powerful air strikes since the start of the full-scale invasion. The Russians struck with drones, two Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, and five Iskander-M ballistic missiles. The shelling continued into the morning. The enemy's target was again industrial and energy infrastructure. Residential buildings, administrative buildings, civilian vehicles, and a fire truck were also damaged. Odesa was left without electricity, water, and heating.
