Operator of Darnytska CHPP: Heat supply may be partially restored in two months only
This was reported on Facebook by the Euro-Reconstruction LLC, as cited by Ukrinform.
“In connection with the spread of information in the public space about the alleged resumption of the CHPP’s operations, including heat and electricity production, over the next two months, we clarify the following. Currently, this refers only to the possibility of partial restoration of heat supply. According to preliminary estimates, the approximate timeline for the relevant work, based on available official information, is no sooner than two months. At the same time, final restoration deadlines can only be determined after completion of debris removal and repair of damage by SES (State Emergency Service) units, as well as following a full technical assessment,” the statement said.
Euro-Reconstruction LLC also noted that electricity production at Darnytska CHPP remains completely halted:
“As a result of missile strikes, the facility suffered critical equipment damage. As of today, restoration of electricity generation is technically impossible and is not planned, since the nature of the damage does not allow for rapid recovery.”
Thus, the company emphasizes that equating the possible partial restoration of heat supply with resumption of electricity production is incorrect and does not reflect the actual situation.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts of Kyiv remained mostly without heat supply due to the massive Russian attack on the city’s infrastructure on February 3. The Kyiv City State Administration stated that restoring the systems and equipment of Darnytska CHPP, damaged by the Russian attack, will take at least two months.
