Shmyhal discusses creation of joint ventures and military reforms with German colleagues
According to Ukrinform, Shmyhal shared details of the meeting on his official Facebook page.
The minister expressed gratitude to Germany for its robust security assistance.
“I praised Germany’s support in supplying Patriot systems and the personal involvement of the general in this process,” Shmyhal noted.
He also thanked Germany for its announced EUR 9 billion in annual aid, as well as a EUR 300 million contribution toward the development of long-range strike drone production.
“We continued discussions today on the agreements reached during the Ramstein meeting with Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. We talked about launching joint manufacturing projects with German companies as part of the Build with Ukraine initiative,” Shmyhal reported.
He added, “We also focused on the reforms being implemented within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are aligning our military with NATO standards through close cooperation with our allies.”
Shmyhal emphasized that Ukraine deeply values Germany’s readiness to respond swiftly to emerging challenges and remains committed to strengthening defense cooperation.
As Ukrinform previously reported, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that in light of escalating security threats, Germany is not only maintaining but increasing its support for Ukraine—now ranking first globally in terms of assistance.
