In 2024, 13 large wind turbines with a total capacity of 27 MW were commissioned in Ukraine.

Mykola Savchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, said this in a commentary to Ukrinform.

“There are 13 large ones - from 660 kW - with a capacity of 27 MW. And what is introduced by households and communities falls out of the statistics if it does not go to the ‘green’ tariff,” Savchuk said.

As for the forecasts for 2025, the expert anticipates that by the end of the year, a significant increase in wind farm commissioning will be observed. Savchuk explained that wind generation projects take longer to implement than solar ones.

Specifically, the installation of a low-power turbine takes at least six months, whereas wind power stations with a capacity of 2 MW or more require at least two years for installation.

As reported, in January, DTEK Group and Danish company Vestas signed an agreement to build the second stage of Tyligulska Wind Power Plant in the Mykolaiv region. It will consist of 64 wind turbines with a total capacity of 384 MW.
