Vice Prime Minister: Ukraine needs UAH 72 billion to pay IDPs this year

The state should allocate UAH 72 billion for payments to internally displaced persons in 2023.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk said this during the United News telethon, Ukrinform reports.

"For example, in 2022, UAH 57 billion was needed. In 2023, according to forecasts, the state will need to find UAH 72 billion to pay all the payments to IDPs. After defense and security, this is the largest item of state budget expenditures," said Vereshchuk.

According to her, there are currently 4.9 million officially registered internally displaced persons in Ukraine. About 5 million more of our compatriots are abroad.

"The analysis of the State Border Guard Service shows that more people are returning than those who are leaving. And this is good for the state," the head of the Ministry of Reintegration is convinced.

As reported, the amount of assistance for an adult working person is UAH 2.000, for a child or a person with a disability - UAH 3.000.
