Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has met with the newly elected Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC, Anthony Marino, to discuss the development of Ukraine’s gas production industry.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We discussed the vision of the development of the gas production industry in our state. It is a promising area that can become a driver of Ukraine’s recovery, further development and energy independence,” Shmyhal wrote.

Additionally, the parties considered one of the common challenges, the next heating season. Shmyhal noted that last winter was one of the hardest in Ukraine’s history, but the state endured.

“We count on close coordination with Naftogaz in terms of preparations for the next heating period,” Shmyhal added.

A reminder that Anthony Marino, an exploration and production specialist with over 38 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, was elected as Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC on February 10, 2023.
