The State Regulatory Service plans to do everything possible so that this year Ukraine becomes an associate member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

This was announced by the head of the SRS, Oleksiy Kucher, in an interview with Ukrinform.

"The OECD is one of the most prestigious international economic organizations, which includes 38 leading world states. Ukraine's accession is no less important than that to the European Union. The experience and support of this organization will be extremely valuable for Ukraine today and in the process of post-war reconstruction in particular," the head of the service is convinced.

He recalled that in early December 2022, the SRS delegation took part in the meeting of the OECD Regulatory Policy Committee in Paris. The Ukrainian side offered its own vision of how the organization can help the war-torn country.

"Now it is difficult to say when our country will join the OECD, but integration is taking large steps. For our part, we will do everything possible to make Ukraine an associate member as early as this year. Our vision of deregulation policy fully coincides with the key directions of the OECD Regulatory Committee," Kucher emphasized.

As reported, since the full-scale invasion, the State Regulatory Service has saved UAH 18.1 billion for businesses and UAH 284.3 million for the state by refusing to approve draft regulatory acts that failed to comply with Ukrainian legislation.
