The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine plans to consider the draft state budget for 2021 at a special meeting next week.

"It was decided to consider the budget next week. I think it will be adopted at the second reading without significant problems," Head of the Servant of the People faction David Arakhamiya told journalists after a meeting of faction leaders with the Verkhovna Rada leadership, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

A special meeting on the initiative of 150 MPs is likely to be held, the lawmaker noted.

As reported, the draft law on the state budget of Ukraine for 2021 was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for the second reading on November 27.

On November 26, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft state budget for the second reading and sent it to the Verkhovna Rada.

On November 5, the Verkhovna Rada passed the draft law on the state budget of Ukraine for 2021 at first reading. The draft budget, approved at first reading, stipulated 4.6% GDP growth, consumer inflation at 7.3%, public debt-to-GDP ratio at 64.6%, deficit at the level of 6% of GDP or UAH 270.4 billion. The average annual exchange rate at which the state budget for 2021 is calculated is UAH 29.1 / USD 1.

During an extraordinary Cabinet’s meeting on November 26, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said, presenting the draft state budget for 2021 for the second reading, that the state budget deficit had been reduced from 6% to 5.3%.
