Minister Petrashko: Agricultural sector development, industry recovery to stimulate economic growth
"The first [element] is the restoration of industrial potential through some simple mechanisms that will create hundreds of jobs and have a great impact on the economy," Minister of Economic Development, Trade, and Agriculture of Ukraine Ihor Petrashko said, the press service of the Ministry informs.
According to the minister, the application of a non-price criteria principle (localization), access to finance, and modernization of basic infrastructure items (in particular, the Ukrainian Railways locomotives) will contribute to the recovery of industry.
As for the agricultural sector, it is important to support cattle breeding, restore irrigation systems (especially in southern areas), and introduce agricultural insurance schemes.
"Insurance is important for farmers, especially amidst climate change, droughts. We have no such scheme now, so we will offer it. I am sure that the Parliament will support us in launching a tool that will allow farmers to manage their risks," Petrashko said.
The third important element is attracting investments, relocating production and parts of logistics chains from Asia to Ukraine.
"The country should attract new investments. We need know-hows, technologies, integration into international logistics chains,” the minister emphasized.
