Infrastructure minister: Mukachevo-Budapest train should be launched this year
"I am very glad that this idea, which has been developed for a long time, is implemented by the team of Kravtsov [acting head of the Ukrainian Railways]... This corresponds to our national strategy that passenger and freight trains should run to Europe. This corresponds to our strategy of turning Mukachevo into a hub of Zakarpattia region, primarily, the railway hub. I believe that after the existing European railway line reaching Mukachevo is modernized, we will be able to launch the Mukachevo-Budapest train this year. It will be operated by the Hungarian Railways, so the Ukrainians will be able to compare Ukrainian and European trains," Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelian said on the air of Channel 5.
