Nowak wants road quality checks twice a year

Ukravtodor wants to introduce annual road quality checks in March and June, as well as to create a list of unscrupulous contractors.
Head of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) Slawomir Nowak said this at a government meeting on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"I propose that annually, in early March and in late June, twice a year, we monitor [road quality] and detect shortcomings for the past year, which will be eliminated by contractors," he said.
According to Nowak, a "black list" of unscrupulous contractors will also be created.
"It is proposed that Ukravtodor be empowered to control the quality of road work, including by involving specialized agencies, to stop the work if there is a critical situation, and also to form a list of unscrupulous contractors," he said.
