KYIV, February 27 /UKRINFORM/. The draft state program for economic development stimulation for 2013-2014 envisages a significant modernization of transport infrastructure, intensification of construction and reform of the housing and utilities sector in Ukraine.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul said this during an extended government meeting on Wednesday.
"As part of the modernization of the railway infrastructure it is proposed to significantly upgrade Ukrzaliznytsia's rolling stock. Among major projects are the electrification of railway routes and the construction of a new double-track Beskydsky Tunnel," Vilkul said.

Vilkul said that under the state program it is also planned to upgrade the fleet of trolleybuses and trams that will be produced in Ukraine with the involvement of energy-saving technologies and that will take into account all conditions for people with disabilities.
The deputy prime minister added that the program also envisages the completion of a bridge over the Dnipro River in Zaporizhzhia, the construction of bypass roads around major cities, as well as the continuation of work on the development of a high-quality highway that will connect the eastern and western parts of Ukraine.
