Chornomornaftogaz launches new gas well on Arkhanhelske field
. PJSC Chornomornaftogaz has put into operation a new, 11th in a row, production well on Arkhanhelske gas field in the north-western part of the Black Sea shelf, the company's press service told UKRINFORM.
"Jack-up rig Tavryda of the state-run joint stock company Chornomornaftogaz completed the drilling of the 11th in a row production well on the platform BK-1 of the Arkhanhelske gas field in the north-western part of the Black Sea shelf. It was put into operation and gas began to flow from it into the underwater pipeline and then to the coast," the press-service reported.
According to the press service, the total natural gas production from the platform reached about 500 thousand cubic meters per day and continues to grow. The total daily volume of the company's gas production on the Black Sea shelf reached 3.3 million cubic meters.
The press service also reports that the current jack-up rig Tavryda is being prepared for drilling the last, 12th, hole at BK-1.
Chornomornaftogaz is developing three deposits on the Black Sea shelf - gas condensate deposits Shtormove and Holytsynske, as well as gas deposit Arkhanhelske.
Arkhanhelske field is located in the north-western part of the Black Sea shelf, 60-70 km off the coast, at a depth of 51 meters. It was commissioned in 1992, and production there is proceeding on several stationary platforms. As part of its development, a new platform BK-1 was built, installed and equipped; a two-kilometer underwater gas pipeline was welded, laid and connected to link BK-1 with another operating platform, and 11 wells have already been built.
PJSC Chornomornaftogaz (Simferopol) is the only enterprise in Ukraine, which independently conducts exploration and development of oil and gas deposits in the Ukrainian sector of the Black and Azov Seas, the preparation of hydrocarbon raw materials, their transportation and storage.
