Akhmetov retains 39th position in Forbes world's billionaires list

KYIV, March 9 /UKRINFORM/. Well-known Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Akhmetov, 45, has taken 39th position in the ranking of the world's billionaires according to the Forbes magazine, with a fortune of USD 16 billion. The list includes 1,227 people worldwide, according to the latest ranking released on the website Forbes.com on March 7.

The number of Ukrainian billionaires on the list remains unchanged - eight people. Victor Pinchuk is in 255th place (USD 4.2 billion), Igor Kolomoisky is 377th (USD 3 billion), Gennady Bogolyubov 418th (USD 2.8 billion), Konstantin Zhevago 719th (USD 1.8 billion), Yuriy Kosiuk 960th (USD 1.3 billion), and Andrey Verevskiy and Petro Poroshenko are in 1153th place with a fortune of USD 1 billion each.

Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim Helu, whose last year's fortune dropped from USD 74 billion to USD 69 billion, is continuing to top the table.

He is followed by Microsoft founder Bill Gates (USD 61 billion) and U.S. financier Warren Buffett (USD 44 billion).
