Ukroboronprom negotiates on expansion of military cooperation with United States

The delegation of the State Concern Ukroboronprom, the association of Ukrainian military-industrial complex enterprises, arrived in the United States to discuss the expansion of defense equipment supplies to Ukraine, including defensive weapons, as well as to negotiate on joint projects in this area.

“We have meetings scheduled at the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of State. They generally concern the US-Ukraine military and technical and industrial cooperation,” Ukroboronprom Director General Pavlo Bukin said in a commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent on Friday.

He also stressed that the Ukrainian side brought "specific projects in the areas where we can establish cooperation."

"We need high-technology products of the U.S. defense industry, including in the field of radioelectronic warfare, electronic intelligence, various optical devices and, of course, defensive weapons," the Ukroboronprom Director General said.

He confirmed that the expansion of supplies of those products to Ukraine would also be discussed.

In addition, he noted, Ukraine needs U.S. assistance in organizing a closed cycle of ammunition production, production of special chemicals.
