Five Ukrainian soldiers killed, eight wounded in ATO zone in last day

Five Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone in eastern Ukraine over the past day.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Spokesperson for ATO issues Andriy Lysenko said this at a press briefing on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Five Ukrainian soldiers were killed as a result of combat actions over the past day. In particular, one serviceperson was shot dead by a sniper near Novhorodske, three were killed near Krasnohorivka, another one was killed as a result of enemy attacks on the position Butovka mine. Eight Ukrainian soldiers were wounded, of whom seven – near Krasnohorivka, and one – near the Butovka mine,” Lysenko said.

In addition, according to the Defense Ministry's spokesperson, one Ukrainian soldier was taken prisoner.
