Ukrainian engineers have developed dust- and water-resistant power modules for combat conditions that ensure autonomous operation of equipment and command posts in battlefield environments. The systems can withstand drops from height and even being run over by a vehicle, and they produce no thermal signature.

This was reported to Ukrinform on the sidelines of the international defense exhibition SAHA 2026 by Illia Liudvik, director of STRUMKO ENERGY.

“Having certain expertise in energy storage systems, since 2023 we have been working on a request from the military to create a product specifically for special conditions. Popular civilian solutions often cannot withstand frontline realities due to fragility and lack of protection. Our system is a completely different level: the casing has IP65 dust and water protection and can withstand drops from height or even being run over by a vehicle. Dirt, dust, and moisture do not affect its operation,” Liudvik said.

The STRUMKO and STRUMKO XXL tactical systems were developed by Ukrainian engineers and are already being used at the front. They are adapted for operation in extreme temperatures, shelters, and high-load environments.

According to the company director, STRUMKO systems have been used by various units on the battlefield for over a year. One of their key features is a built-in battery heating system, which allows operation at temperatures down to -20°C without loss of efficiency.

The STRUMKO system has a modular design and consists of a main battery, inverter and charging modules, as well as a separate unit for charging UAV batteries.

“We optimized the drone charging process. A special module allows voltage conversion and simultaneously charges 6 to 8 UAV batteries depending on the configuration, and a full charge is enough to power 15 to 30 drone battery packs,” Liudvik said.

The company also developed the STRUMKO XXL mobile backup station with a capacity of 16 kWh and inverter power of 5 kW, designed to power command posts, electronic warfare systems, Starlink terminals, and other equipment for 6–8 hours.

“The absence of an internal combustion engine means zero thermal signature and absolute silence. This makes the power source invisible to enemy thermal imaging and acoustic reconnaissance systems,” the director emphasized.

He added that the station can safely operate directly in dugouts and underground shelters since it produces no exhaust gases and does not require fuel, lubricants, or regular maintenance: “The system does not need fuel, oil, or regular servicing. It is always ready to operate with one click.”

According to STRUMKO ENERGY, engineers are already working on new, higher-capacity and improved cooling versions of the product line.

“We see strong interest in our products from various countries, including significant attention from Middle Eastern states, because our system is not just a battery, but an adaptive platform that we can modify according to specific technical requirements,” Liudvik concluded.

As reported by Ukrinform, last week the Ukrainian national defense industry stand was presented at the SAHA 2026 exhibition in Istanbul. It featured 13 exhibiting companies and two more participating in a business visitor format.
