17-year-old Ukrainian killed in Ireland

The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 15, at the Grattan Wood apartment complex, an "emergency residential premises."

Police and emergency services arrived at the scene at around 11:00 following a report of a stabbing and found the severely wounded Ukrainian minor. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the boy died at the scene, law enforcement said.

Another male teenager was taken to hospital with apparent slash injuries, but his condition was not life-threatening. A woman was also taken to hospital after the incident.

The deceased teenager and the injured boy are believed to have known each other. The police are establishing the circumstances of the attack and the cause of the conflict.

Tusla, the Irish child and family agency, confirmed that the incident took place at a facility that provides assistance to individuals seeking international protection.

The body of the deceased teenager has been sent for a post-mortem examination. The police stated that the results of this examination will help determine how to investigate the case.
