Since September 2019, thirteen former and incumbent members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine have been prosecuted.

"Over the past few months, thirteen former and incumbent lawmakers have been prosecuted," Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Riaboshapka said during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Law Enforcement, reporting on the work of his agency over the past five months, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Riaboshapka also reminded that many high-ranking officials were caught taking bribers within this period.

“Recently, high-ranking officials such as members of Parliament, heads of regional councils, deputy ministers, deputy heads of central executive bodies have been prosecuted. The cases involving high-ranking officials no longer create a stir,” the Prosecutor General summed up.
