KYIV, July 25 /Ukrinform/. According to preliminary reports, there are no Ukrainians among those killed in a horrific crash of a passenger train in Spain, Director of the Foreign Ministry's Information Policy Department Yevhen Perebyinis has told Ukrinform
"According to preliminary reports, there are no Ukrainian citizens among the victims. Nevertheless, we continue to check this information," the diplomat noted.
As reported, a passenger train derailed near the railway station Santiago de Compostela on Wednesday at 20.42 local time. All 13 rail cars overturned, the last one was destroyed completely.
At least 77 people have been killed. Overall, there were 218 passengers in train as well as drivers and attendants.
The accident was the most serious rail crash in Spain in past 40 years.
