Russians attack port in Odesa region this morning; ship damaged

On the morning of May 5, the Russian army shelled one of the ports in the Great Odesa area, damaging a ship flying the Cook Islands flag.

According to Ukrinform, the SE Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority reported this on Telegram.

“This morning, the enemy struck a port in the Great Odesa area. As a result of the attack, a civilian vessel flying the flag of the Cook Islands was damaged. The crew was unharmed,” the statement said.

The port is currently operating with safety risks in mind, and specialized services are working to address the consequences.

As reported, the main targets of the enemy attack on the night of May 5 were energy facilities, oil and gas infrastructure, railways, and industrial sites; there were casualties and injuries.
