Zelensky: Two drones deliberately target part of Kyiv where Lavra and Mystetskyi Arsenal located
According to Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this on Telegram following his visit to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and the Mystetskyi Arsenal, which were damaged by the Russian attack.
“First responders have put out the fires in Kyiv – at the Lavra and the Mystetskyi Arsenal. I am grateful to all the services working at the sites of the strikes, and to everyone who is helping. It has been confirmed that two Russian drones deliberately targeted the part of the city where the Lavra and the Mystetskyi Arsenal are located,” Zelensky noted.
He added that as of now, 35 people are known to have been injured in Kyiv. Across the country, 53 people have been wounded, and 11 are known to have been killed in this massive Russian strike. The president expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims.
He noted that he is in constant communication with partners regarding the consequences of this Russian attack and the necessary response.

“It is important that state leaders, public leaders, and international organizations do not remain silent. I have instructed Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our entire diplomatic team to maximize all contacts with partners today so that international events this week and next deliver real results for strengthening our defense and increasing global pressure on Russia over this war. We need a just response to this Russian strike,” the president emphasized.

At the same time, the Security Service of Ukraine has determined that Russia struck the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra with a Geran-2 unmanned aerial vehicle, which is the Russian version of the Iranian Shahed-type kamikaze drone.
As the investigation revealed, the enemy attacked the monastery complex at 1:50 a.m. on June 15 during a massive assault on the capital.

Following an inspection of the scene, SSU officers discovered fragments of the fuselage and engine of the Russian kamikaze drone that struck the St. Stephen’s Chapel of the Dormition Cathedral on the Lavra’s premises.
An examination of the drone’s wreckage revealed that certain components were manufactured in Russia’s Alabuga Special Economic Zone.
This is evidenced by relevant markings found on the fragments of the Russian drone.
As a result of the strike, the cathedral’s roof trusses, domes, walls, and windows were damaged. There were no fatalities or injuries.
The shock wave also damaged civilian infrastructure in neighboring buildings in Kyiv’s Pecherskyi district.
SSU investigators classify this strike as a war crime and have already initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Comprehensive measures are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the Russian attack and bring those responsible to justice.
These comprehensive measures are ongoing under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
As reported, as a result of the Russian Federation’s airstrike on the capital, a fire broke out on the grounds of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra on the roof of the Dormition Cathedral.
The death toll in Kyiv from the massive Russian attack on June 15 has increased to five. Another 35 people were injured.
Air Defense Forces intercepted 50 missiles and 582 drones used by Russian invaders to attack Ukraine starting on the evening of June 14. The main target of the attack was Kyiv.
