Russian airstrike on Sumy region community kills one, injures three

Russian forces carried out an airstrike on the Shostka community in the Sumy region on April 3, killing one person and injuring three others.

The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"The enemy struck the Shostka community with guided aerial bombs. Unfortunately, there is information about one person killed. The identity is currently being established," Hryhorov said.

According to him, three injured people were preliminarily taken to hospital, including a 29-year-old woman who is in serious condition.

The victims are receiving all necessary medical assistance.

The consequences of the attack are being clarified.

Meanwhile, the Sumy City Military Administration reported on Telegram that on the morning of April 3, Russian forces also attacked the city of Sumy with strike drones.

The UAVs hit the Kovpakivskyi district and the central part of the city.

Non-residential premises and vehicles were damaged, but there were no casualties, the administration said.

The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

According to Sumy region police, on April 2, Russian forces shelled 29 settlements across the region. Investigative teams and explosive experts worked at the sites.

In the Hlukhiv community, a 39-year-old woman was injured in a drone attack. A gas station building and a store were damaged.

In the Shostka and Sumy city communities, as well as the Bilopillia territorial community, damage was reported to apartment buildings, private homes, a hangar, outbuildings, a business, and vehicles.

Criminal proceedings have been launched in all cases under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes).

On April 1, Russian forces carried out 53 strikes on 42 settlements in the Sumy region, leaving three people injured.
