Voloshyn denies Russian capture of Ternuvate, Richne in Zaporizhzhia region

This was stated in a comment to Ukrinform by Vladyslav Voloshyn, Spokesperson for the Defense Forces of the South.

Commenting on the situation around Ternuvate, Voloshyn said the Russian side is deliberately spreading disinformation.

“The Russians are now trying to spread information everywhere that they have taken this settlement under their control,” he said.

According to the Spokesperson, Ternuvate is located at a considerable distance from the line of combat engagement.

“The settlement itself is located at least fifteen kilometers from the line of combat contact,” Voloshyn explained.

He reported that the enemy attempted to use sabotage infiltration tactics.

“A few days ago, they used their favorite ‘flag-planting’ tactic and infiltrated under weather conditions favorable for such actions,” Voloshyn noted.

According to him, the enemy sabotage group was quickly eliminated.

“Within about an hour, Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out search-and-strike operations and cleared the settlement. That group was eliminated,” Voloshyn emphasized.

He also clarified that a video showing captured Russian soldiers that appeared online relates precisely to these events.

“This is the video from those battles, from the moment we were eliminating that group,” the spokesperson said.

Commenting on the situation regarding Richne, Voloshyn stressed that the enemy has had no success there either.

“This settlement is also under the control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” he said.

The Spokesperson for the Defense Forces of the South concluded that both settlements remain under Ukrainian control.

“Richne is under our control, and Ternuvate is also under our control,” Voloshyn stressed.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Voloshyn earlier said that reports claiming the settlement of Zlahoda on the border of the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions had come under Russian control were not true.
